Sadly our Ladies Revive Active Team, managed by Mary Kenny and Grainne O’Connor bowed out gallantly in their Semi Final Match, narrowly losing a very tight match against Ashbourne GC played on Monday. However, I am sure you will agree with me that the Ladies, did so well to reach the Semi Final, doing the Club proud.

Away Mary Kenny and Noreen Giblin secured a 3 and 2 win. Lady Captain Ciara and Joan Kehoe narrowly lost out on the 18th and Sheila McGloughlin and Joan O’Brien also brought their match up the 18th hoping to get a win to bring the match up 19 but having to concede a shot on the hole didn’t help. So close!

At home Barbara Ryan and Nuala MacMahon won a hard fought battle on the 17th and it was all down to Grainne O’Connor and Brenda Rogan to try and win the final match. Playing the 18th 1 down they were unfortunately unable to secure the required win.

Many thanks to all the ladies and gents who came out to support us on the day in Skerries and Ashbourne. The support from you the members was very much appreciated by all the team and oh so nearly brought us through.

Thank you to Sylvia our overall Team Manager for her commitment and help, also many thanks to Mary Leonard who looked after the home team at all of the matches through the Competition.

‘What can we say about our wonderful panel of players who practiced, took time off from work to play and played their hearts out yesterday. A huge commitment from everyone was much appreciated and we nearly did it.’

A ‘Big Thank You’ to Ciara, Joan Kehoe, Sheila, Joan O’Brien, Noreen, Jo Price, Nuala Mac, Barbara, Mary Dowling, Brenda Rogan and Joan McDonnell, Aisling Ryan, Dervla and Gen Carron – from Team Managers Mary Kenny & Grainne O’Connor.

Congratulations to our Ladies Revive Active Team who had a fantastic win on Sunday, beating Milliscent GC in the Quarter Final. A wonderful result winning 2 matches at home and even better 2 matches away.

‘The weather was not pleasant but it did not deter us, so onwards and upwards!’
The Ladies are now in the Semi-Finals, with a match against Ashbourne GC, whilst not yet confirmed the match looks likely to take place on Sunday 19th August 2018, with three matches away and two at home. Further details will be confirmed in due course.

The Ladies won this competition and therefore a Pennant three years ago, it would be lovely to repeat that success, but for now all efforts are on winning the Semi-Final.

Managers Mary Kenny and Grainne O’Connor would like to thank all the Team for playing their best and getting such great results, also the Subs and the Panel who have been so supportive throughout. Also to thank acting Manager Mary Leonard who has done such a great job at each match at Skerries.

Finally, the Team, Panel and Managers would like to thank you the members for your continued support to date, it has been fantastic and hope you will be there again when they next take on Ashbourne GC.

Congratulations to our Ladies Revive Active Fourball Team, managed by Mary Kenny & Grainne O’Connor who had a great win in the 3rd Round against Howth GC.

An away win by Lady Captain & Joan Kehoe set them up. At home Sheila McGloughlin & Joan O’Brien won on the 16th. The first two matches were all square after 18 Holes, then Grainne O’Connor & her partner Mary Dowling secured the match on the 19th with Grainne holing a magnificent long birdie putt.

The Team and Team Managers would like to thank all those who came out to support them on the day, it was great to have the support from you the members. Special thanks to Men’s Captain Dominic and Vice-Captain Tom who were also there to cheer the Team on.

The next match will be against Millicent GC in the Quarter Final at a date yet to be decided, further details will be communicated in due course.
