Great Win for Ladies Junior Foursomes Team

Well done to our ladies Junior Foursomes Team after a great win against Laytown/Bettystown in Virginia on Sunday (7th April).


The Skerries team of Derval Sloan & Noreen Giblin, Joan O’Brien & Gene O’Grady and Sylvia Alcock & Anne McGrath won out in a tight match with Joan and Gene winning their match on the 19th to make it 2:1 to Skerries after Sylvia and Anne’s win on the 17th.
Well done to the team and managers, Noreen and Derval.

in their first round knockout tie against Laytown/Bettystown in Virginia on this Sunday 7th April at 2pm.

Results of Ladies Matches – Junior Cup & Minor Cup

Commiserations to both the Ladies Junior Cup and Minor Cup teams who were beaten by Howth and Ashbourne respectively on last Sunday. Both teams met with very stiff competition and fought bravely, but unfortunately were not successful.

Well done to both teams and their managers for making it as far as they did.

The Challenge Cup had a great victory over Greenore with Jenny Carron winning on the 12th, Catherine Jones winning on 13th, Jean Whyte winning on the 14th and Catherine Noone and Ann Ahern being called in on 15th and 16th holes respectively.

Congratulations to Jo McEvoy and Fionnula Mooney and to the players on a comprehensive win and thanks to reserves and caddies for their efforts and support.

The team are now in the 4th Round of the competition which will be held in Dundalk on 17th June against Headfort.

Well done to all.

Junior Foursomes v Hollystown GC

It was no April fool on Saturday 1st April when our Ladies Junior Foursomes team beat Hollystown Golf Club in St. Annes Golf Club on a very windy, cold and wet afternoon and it too had a very exciting finish.

Ronnie O’Loghlen and Deirdre O’Neill won on 16th; Bridgeen Kiernan and Nuala McMahon coming back from being three down with four to play won their match on the 18th; while Mary Dowling and Joan O’Brien who were all square coming down the 18th hole were called in.

A great performance and a great result and proves the importance of never giving up – well done to the team and their managers
