Planned Course Works

Following careful consultation with the Course Agronomist, Course Convener and Course Superintendent, please note that the following essential course works are planned –

*THURSDAY 23rd AUGUST

To de-thatch the 18 Greens and Putting Green, the course will be closed up until 11am on that day and then opened thereafter. This is not an invasive procedure and the greens will then be top dressed and rolled.

*MONDAY 27th AUGUST

To hollow core and top dress the ‘Front Nine’ – holes 1 – 9 inclusive, the Front Nine will be closed all day, but the Back Nine will be available for play.

*MONDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER

To hollow core and top dress the ‘Back Nine’ – holes 10 – 18 inclusive, the Back Nine will be closed all day, but the Front Nine will be available for play.

*THURSDAY 4th OCTOBER

The Fairway Sanding will take place, the course being closed all day as a result.

All of the above are part of the established annual programme of course works recommended by our Agronomist. They will help ensure that playing surfaces are maintained at their best throughout the winter season.

Please note that the planned works are weather dependent.

Thank you for your patience while these course treatments are on-going.

Thank you

General Manager

May I thank all those members who took part in the Member Survey, there were approximately 280 replies in total, by the time the survey closed.

The Strategic Committee will now start analysing the results – as there are a number of Comments to be reviewed, this process will take a little time, after which the results will then be communicated to you the members.

The diary is now open for Golf Society Bookings for 2019, I would be grateful if those members involved with Golf Societies could promote the benefits of coming to Skerries Golf Club to their respective Golf Societies and encourage them to consider booking Skerries Golf Club for one of their outings in 2019.

Please feel free to contact me directly to discuss your particular Golf Societies requirements.
