Ladies Overall Team Manager (Mary Dowling) update

A most exciting evening of golf went all the way to the 19th on Wednesday 27th April after ten matches (five in Ballinascourney and five in Skerries). Skerries made a fantastic comeback only to lose on the 19th when the opposition sank an exceptionally long putt. Well done to all the players, the Team Manager Grainne O’Connor and her Assistant Catherine Noone.
Fingal Seniors
Skerries played the first of six matches against The Island on Monday 25th April. The Island won 6 points and Skerries 2 points. The next match is against Elm Green on the 30th April.
Upcoming matches
Sunday 1st May – Junior Foursomes v Ardee. 2 matches away at 3 pm and one match in Skerries at 15.45pm.
Saturday 7th May – Intermediate Cup v Co Louth. 3 matches at home and 2 away at 3.30pm.
Sunday 8th May – Senior Cup v Dundalk. 3 matches at home and 2 away at 3.30 pm.
Spring League
The 3rd Round is underway and is due to be completed by 30th April. The two teams with the best aggregate points will go head to head in the Final.

Uden Cup
Skerries were just edged out of the competition by the current Uden Cup holders The Island with wins of 3 matches to 2. Well done to all the players and manager Gerry Lloyd.

Entry to the Liam Delaney Mixed Foursomes closes this Sunday April 17th @11 pm
You can enter either via HowDidIDo and ClubV1 Apps or via the computer in the Pro Shop.
The 1st round will complete by mid-May and the Final in September. Always a great club competition so get your entry in.
10 years ago the idea of a short game area was proposed by Stan Pyke and Kingsley Lewis with many other members through club activities, fundraising, volunteering etc have made their vision a reality. The club now has a first-class short game area which will be of huge benefit to all members, including club Teams, Juniors, new members, Women in Golf. Join Stan, Kingsley and the club captains on the 1st May @4pm for the “official” opening. More details to follow….
We’ve had a busy month with St. Patrick’s Weekend Celebrations, Fundraisers, getting the Short Game Academy ready, appearing on ‘GolfNow’ adverts during the US Masters and much more! There is a lot planned over the next while, so check out the newsletter to stay up to date.

The first of the monthly medals starts this month. Every time you enter a medal competition you accumulate points for Golfer of the Year.
