St Anne’s Golf Club came out 2:1 winners against Skerries in Balbriggan today in the third round of the Junior Foursomes. In a tight affair, the deciding match went down to the last hole.
Well done on a great run to team managers Noreen Giblin and Derval Sloan.
unfortunately beaten by Headford in Moyvalley Golf Club today. Patricia MacClancy’s team went to extra holes in two matches before being called in. Headford had a very strong contingent in Moyvalley and Skerries played some great golf. Well done to all on a good run – there’s always next year.
to our Challenge Cup Team beaten by Ashbourne in County Meath Golf Club today.
The team, managed by Ailish Humphreys, put up a great fight but were narrowly beaten 2:3 in the end.
Well done to Noreen Giblin and Derval Sloan’s Skerries Junior Foursomes Team who had an impressive 2-1 win against Dundalk in Clontarf Golf Club today. Wins on 17th and 18th were hard fought. They are having a great run and hoping to keep it going!
The Ladies have three teams playing on Saturday 25th May:
Junior Cup against Hollystown in Elmgreen Golf Club at 12 Noon – team managed by Hilda Cussen.
Challenge Cup against Ashbourne in County Meath Golf Club at 4:15 – team managed by Ailish Humphreys.
Junior Foursomes against Dundalk in Clontarf Golf Club at 4:00 – team managed by Noreen Giblin.
On Sunday 26th May, the Junior Boys team play their third round Irish Junior Foursomes match against Portmarnock at 2:00 in Portmarnock Golf Club – team managed by Jim McDonnell.
Our McDonnell Cup Team is also in action on Sunday against Sutton (we have three matches at home – from 2:00 – and two away). The team is managed by Billy Concannon.
Our Ladies Intermediate Cup Team also plays on Sunday – against Headford in Moyvalley Golf Club at 12:45. The team is managed by Patricia MacClancy.

Well done to Grainne O’Connor’s Skerries team who beat Donabate away this afternoon.
The Competition format is Scotch Foursomes Matchplay and teams consist of five pairings.
Three matches went to the eighteenth hole in a very tightly fought tie, with Skerries coming out on top 3.5 to 1.5
who were beaten by Balcarrick Golf Club today. This is a round-robin format so all is not lost for Deirdre Durkan’s team:

on their superb performance today against Killeen Castle. Skerries were close in both matches away when called in as word came through that all three were won in Skerries.
Managed by Peter and Mary Counihan and supported by Captain Peter Lamont and President Aideen Neary at home, a special mention has to go to rookies Rhona and Seamus Mulholland who secured their point on the 14th hole – a great way to start your inter-club career!
annually delivers superb golf and Skerries had a great match against a very strong Island team in Dunlaoghaire today. Joan O’Brien’s team lost out 4.5:0.5 in the end.
In the first match it took an eagle on the last to get the better of Maria Dunne, returning to the venue of her Curtis Cup win. Sheila McGloughlin was well in her match when called in after 14.
Well done to Skerries on a great performance
Skerries secured a great win on Sunday against a strong Forrest Little side.
We won all three matches at home and Ciara Boylan & Joan Kehoe won a match away. Barbara Ryan & Sylvia Alcock fought back after being 3 down after 11 holes to win on the 17th in Skerries.
